(November 25, 2014) The All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have been trading accusations following a raid of an APC data centre in Lagos by the Department of State Security, DSS at the weekend. The DSS alleged that the APC was cloning the Permanent Voters Card as well as utilizing technologies at the centre to hack into INEC’s data base to compromise the 2015 elections.
(November 24, 2014) Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN, has presented a budget proposal of N489.69 billion for the 2015 fiscal year to the Lagos State Assembly for approval. The budget is the same as that of 2014, which stood at N489.69 billion, while it still retains its zero deficit in order to ensure that the next government does not inherit a deficit. The capital to recurrent ratio is 51:49 for 2015 which is the same as 2014 budget.
(November 21, 2014) Six Nigerian players have zoomed to the semi finals of this year’s edition of the ongoing ITF Governor’s Cup at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, Lagos Island. The players include Sarah Adegoke, Anu Aiyegbusi and Christy Agugbom. Others are Emmanuel Sylvester, Michael Moses, and Monday Igbinovia while other two players who are non Nigerians were Sarah Razafinmahatratra of Madagascar and Duncan Mugabe of Uganda.
(November 23, 2014)The number of Judges in the Lagos state High court has increased from fifty to fifty- four. This followed the swearing in of four new Judges who are, Justices Iyabo Akinkugbe, Serifat Sonaike, AbdulFattah Lawal and Abisoye Bashua.
(November 19, 2014) There was sporadic shooting on Wednesday evening (19/11/2014) at the cargo section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport due to a clash between men of the customs and clearing agents. Trouble started at the bulk breaking unit of the section when some clearing agents allegedly attacked customs officials led by Customs Area Comptroller , Mr Taju Olarenwaju , who was on routine inspection to ensure compliance with new operating procedures.
