(November 13, 2014)The Lagos state government has given an approval for the repatriation of identified bodies from the collapsed building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations, in Lagos. Governor Babatunde Fashola gave the go-ahead at a meeting with the South African special envoy on the tragedy, Mr. Jeff Radebe, and other top officials at the Lagos House in Marina.
(November 10, 2014) The distribution of Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has been ongoing in eleven out of the statutory twenty local government areas in Lagos state. However, the exercise has been characterized by complaints especially from the All Progressives Congress (APC), which first criticized the phased exercise occasioned by the non availability of the full materials needed for the exercise.
(November 10, 2014) Activities at the Lagos State Governor's Office in Alausa, Ikeja, were almost brought to a standstill today by a large number of residents who marched on the office to protest what they called the shoddy manner in which the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, handled the distribution of the Permanent Voters Cards, PVC, in the state.
