(November 5, 2014)Governor Babatunde Fashola wants the federal government to invest more of the SURE-P funds in rehabilitation of roads, such as the Apapa-Oshodi expressway in the state. The Governor gave the advice while reacting to reports that some of the traffic officers engaged under the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, popularly called SURE-P/FERMA Federal Task Force had taken over control of traffic on federal highways in Lagos state.
(November 3, 2014) A man has been arrested for allegedly collecting INEC temporary voters cards from some unsuspecting residents at Igoke Ward B area of Agbado Oke Odo Local Council Development Area on the pretext that he would assist them in obtaining the Permanent Voters’ Cards.
About four point eight million Permanent Voters Cards are to be distributed to registered voters in Lagos State beginning from Friday next week. Announcing this at a news conference in Yaba, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Adekunle Ogunmola stated that those whose names are not on the list during the three day exercise would be registered during a continuous voters’ registration scheduled to begin on the twelfth of next month.
(October 30, 2014) The Coroner’s court sitting in Ikeja has been told that the collapsed guest house, belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), has no approval from the Lagos state government. The state Commissioner for Physical Development and Urban Planning, Mr. Toyin Ayinde revealed this while testifying at the court.
